Yearbook pictures are today 1st block - don't be late!!! Make-ups will be October 3rd, 4th block. BPSTIL students can take their pictures before 7:30 or when they get back at 10:15. Dress code WILL be enforced.

 

Attention Seniors only!  LSU college recruiter, Justin Jones, will be visiting Airline High School on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:45 AM.  The meeting will be held in the auditorium.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, please sign up in the counselors’ office by the end of school, Monday, September 23rd

 

Tutoring for #100 will be Wednesday this week only due to the game schedule.

 

 

Beta induction is TODAY, Tuesday, Sept. 17th. It is mandatory for ALL BETA members. New members report to the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. and returning members report at 5:45 p.m.

 

Drama Club members: The Humane Society needs treats, toys, puppy pads, dog food, and many other items.  Please drop off your items with Mrs. Lipsey or Mrs. Finimore and make sure to label the bag with your name so we can record your donation.  All items are due no later than Friday. 

 

Coming: Summer of 2021! A 9-day tour of Ireland and England! Interested? There will be an informational meeting with Mrs. Landry this Thursday at 6 pm in the AHS library! Bring your parents/guardians and get ready for the experience of a lifetime!

 

Attention Seniors, if you did not come to the senior meeting on September 12th in the auditorium, please see Mrs. Ligman in the counselors' office to pick up your senior packet.  There is important information in the packet pertaining to graduation.

 

Mrs. Lepore has less than 20 Avengers sweatshirts left.  $30 in the Art Wing C-4. First come first serve.

HOMECOMING TICKET ARE ON SALE. They are 2/$25 and will be sold in the foyer by the auditorium all three lunch shifts. Prices go up the week of HC and NO tickets will be sold after 12:45 pm on Thursday, Sept. 26.  Students remember is you have any fines or fees or overdue library books you NOR your date will be able to purchase Homecoming tickets.

 

National Art Honor Society sign up forms are outside C3. You must have a 3.0 overall GPA and at least one art class with a recommendation from a teacher. Forms are due by Monday, September 30th.

 

Yearbook is selling cowbells for $10.00 every day during lunch.

 

Airline Lacrosse will have a MANDATORY meeting on Thursday, September 26th after school at 2:30 PM in Coach Wilburn's room E-312. This meeting is for all current players as well as any students interested in joining Lacrosse this year.

 

Get a taste of Destination Imagination! Interest meeting will be TODAY, September 17th (2:30-3:30) in Mrs. R. Bryant’s room: E-111.

 

Boys soccer will be selling raffle tickets for a "Free" limo ride for the HOCO game on Sept. 27th. See any soccer team member to purchase raffle tickets for $1.  Shreveport Limousine Service will pick up your group of 8 in front of Airline Stadium at 5:00 pm, take you to Walk-Ons for dinner and bring you back to the stadium at 7:00 for the HoCo game against Natchitoches Central.  Limo ride and dinner included.

Winner will be announced on the morning of Sept. 25th

 

Northwestern visit announcement: Juniors and Seniors: Dr. Chris Maggio, President of Northwestern State University will be visiting Airline High School on TOMORROW, September 18th at 8:00 AM.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, please sign up in the Counselors Office by end of school September 16th.

 

YEARBOOK will be selling Pop Tarts in The Dock in the mornings AND at lunch for $1.00!

 

Drop your Viking Vouchers in the PBIS Pizza with a Pal box in the library. Teacher AND student wins free Johnny’s Pizza!

The Lady Viking freshman, JV, and varsity teams defeated Magnet last night. In the freshman game, Kylie Authement had 14 aces and Kayleigh Cathey had 5 aces and 1 kill. In the JV game, Alayna Lee had 5 digs and 1 kill and Allison Watson had 2 aces and 3 kills. In the varsity game, Lexi Danard has 4 kills 2 blocks, 1 assist; Gabby Patronis had  6 aces, 3 kill, 7 assists 3 digs; Jaci Ervin has 3 aces 2 kills 4 blocks 5 digs; Tori Ligman had 1 Ace 1 assist 15 digs. The Lady Vikings play at home Tuesday and Thursday next week and travel to dutchtown  today for a tournament. 

 

Congratulations to Shannon Mathers for being named as a National Merit Semi-Finalist.  She is one of 16,000 students in the nation being recognized for outstanding Academic Achievements.  Congratulations Shannon!

Vikings - please join the Drama Club as they "Pause for Paws"! The Drama Club is collecting items to help the Humane Society care for homeless animals.  Please donate dog food, treats, toys, shampoo, and gently used towels and blankets.  A complete list of items is found on posters located around AHS.  Deliver your items to Rooms A-1 or A-3 by September 16.  Thank you for helping our community!

Mrs. Lindner is selling fleece jackets in her room (E302). They are 35$. They are only available for sell from 7-7:25  If you preordered jackets at freshman orientation, they will be delivered this morning to your first block class.
