CONGRATULATIONS to this week’s Pizza with a Pal winners David Weaver and Mrs. Finimore!!

 

Airline Track and Field will compete in their first track meet today at Benton. Field events will start at 3pm and running at 4pm. Those students competing today will need to report to the boys' gym at 1pm in preparation for the track meet. 

 

 

All eligible candidates for Blue Angels danceline must attend the mandatory parent meeting tomorrow, March 5th in the AHS library at 6:00. Students must attend along with a parent or guardian. Failure to attend the meeting will forfeit eligibility for tryouts. If you have any questions please ask Mrs. Johnston. 

 

Student Council Elections are rapidly approaching. Applications are available in E103 and E108 starting March 5th through March 24th. 

Applications and Mandatory meeting will be March 25th!

See Mrs. Rauschenbach, Mrs. Vrbka, or any Body Officer if you have any questions.

 

Do you like music?  Do you consider yourself a champion at lip syncing to your favorite song?  Do you have what it takes to win a Mic Drop competition?  If you answered yes, then you need to compete at this year's i3 Art Expo. Deadline to sign up is TOMORROW, Friday, May 6. Come by Mrs. Lipsey's room in A-1 for details, and come show us how to drop the mic with style!

 

The Vanguard Marching Band is now accepting applications for color guard tryouts. There will be a new look and a new attitude!  and they are looking to increase to about 30 members. No experience necessary, but dance experience is a plus! Applications are available outside the band room in A wing and due back by Friday, March 13.

The Drama Department invites you to come and see “You're a good man Charlie Brown”. Featuring Kristina Cole as Snoopy, Lainey Weinberger as Woodstock, and Chloe Fontenot as Sally, the production STARTS TONIGHT! and runs through tomorrow. The show starts at 6pm. Tickets cost $7 for adults and students and $5 for kids. We hope to see y’all there!

 

 

Juniors who are interested in being nominated as a Boys and Girls State Representative please come by the Counselor's office and sign up to apply. Sessions will be held June 21-27 at Northwestern in Natchitoches. The DEADLINE to sign up is TOMORROW, Friday, March 6, 2020 and interview dates will be announced afterwards. Applicants will NOT be accepted late. 

 

Ms. K. Bryant (F102) has several long sleeve, lightweight, dry-fit pullovers that she would like to finish selling.  All sizes are left.  First come, first serve.  $20 CASH ONLY

 

Juniors: The time to register for ring ceremony in May is here! Stop by Ms. Hagerhjelm's class in M2 or Mrs. Landry's class in E210 to pick up a registration form. Last day to register will be April 15!

The Writing Center is open again. Anyone who needs any help in their English class, with ACT English, or with writing papers, Beta members will be offering tutoring in room E111 every Wednesday after school until 3:30

Mu Alpha Theta after school tutoring is every Thursday 2:25-3:25 in Mrs. Wolf or Mrs. Bothel's room, F206/207.

MARCH 4, 2020

 

Your Viking Tennis team defeated Capt. Shreve yesterday 9-7!

Holden Meadows and Colby Thomas, Cade Campbell and Spencer Lazenby, and John Michael McLain and Brad Boyd won their doubles matches. 

Christian Cockrell, John Michael McLain, Brad Boyd and Gabby Patronis won their singles matches. 

 

Your Mighty Viking Golfers took to the links yesterday at Northwood Hills.  The Vikings were short some key players but still managed to earn A place at the leaders’ tent! Top scorers for Airline were: Donovan Cooksey, Jacob Smith and Ethan Dial.  The team will play again this week and look to close the gap against 2 in-state rivals that both wear purple and gold. 

 

Teachers please dismiss the Band members at 11:30 today to attend their district assessment at Southwood High School. A list has been provided in your email.

 

If you are interested in joining AHS Teenage Republicans they will be holding a second interest meeting on March 5th at 7:10am in Mrs. Bryant’s room (F 102).

Your Viking JV Baseball Team won both games against Evangel yesterday! The 1st game 10-8, and the second 13-3…way to GEAUX Vikes! 

 

The JV Track Meet for TODAY has been cancelled.

 

Due to NCHS girls basketball state semi-finals the Lady Vikings SOFTBALL GAME tonight against NCHS has been postponed. Date and time tba

Your Viking Powerlifters had a regional Powerlifting meet this weekend. Gabby Patronis placed 3rd in her weight class and Ja'Quarious Rabon won his weight class, they both qualified for state! Neveah Washington and Christian Doucette also qualified for state in their respective weight classes.     

 

Join us tonight starting at 6:45pm in The Dock for Young Life Club. Everyone is welcome so bring a friend and come check it out!  We go to Sonic afterwards too so bring money for food!
