YEARBOOK CLUB PICTURES -  Students and teachers - we are NOT announcing when to leave to take pictures. TEACHERS COME WITH YOUR CLUBS!! Please allow the students 5 minutes to get to the gym by their club picture time. Seniors can come anything during their scheduled 30 minutes slot. Attached is the schedule.

 

On Monday our freshman and JV girls basketball team defeated Parkway in a thriller. 

Freshman won 23-19 with Endia Pradier with 7pts and Kaleigh Cathy with 6pts. 

JV won 27-24 with Kaleigh Cathey leading all scorers with 8 pts and Catherine Jurkovich with 6. 

Last night our Varsity girls basketball team defeated Northwood 49-32 with Sophomore Kayla Hampton scoring 29 pts and Toria Brocks with 6. 

The girls and boys basketball team take on Ruston on Thursday at HOME. Come out to support as well as watch Vicki’s School of Dance! 

 

The Cross Country season ended yesterday afternoon for our Vikings at the State Championships in Natchitoches. The girls team finished 13th and the boys team finished 7th in the state.  Senior, Gabriel Cole had a great race finishing 20th individually.

But it was Senior, Joshua Burns that broke Airline High School records.  Josh finished 4th earning him All-State and All-Composite honors.  4th is the highest place any individual from Airline has finished AND Josh Burns is the FIRST 2-time all-state Airline Cross Country runner.

Congratulations to Joshua Burns and the entire Viking Cross Country team on a great year!!

Tennis tryouts will be December 9th after school at Bossier Tennis Center until 4:00. You will need a physical and a waiver BEFORE you can try out. If you have any questions go by see Mrs. Pharr in F108.

First Priority members, your club picture is at 11:20. Please wear solid navy shirts if you would like to be in the picture.

 

JROTC will be hosting "Trivia Night" on December 9th in the library. Teams will consist of 6 people. Students, teachers, family members are all welcome to play.

Cost is $60 per team. Pizza and soda will be provided!

If you'd like to join the fun, contact a JROTC cadet. All team forms are due Friday, December 6th to Chief Parson in A-5.

 

 

Attention all military and new students: You are invited to attend the Student to Student fall social on Wednesday, November 20 after school in The Dock from 2:45-4:30. Invites were given to your homeroom teachers.

There will be food, fun, games, and door prizes. Wear fall colors and jeans.

If you do not receive an invitation please visit Sergeant Miller in A5 or Mrs. Patronis F-311.

 

Audition packets and sign up lists are now available for the Drama Department's Spring Musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."  See Mrs. Finimore, Mrs. Lipsey, or check the Drama Club bulletin board.  Auditions are December 3rd and 4th.  

 

Tutoring for #100 is canceled Thursday, November 21st and will resume after Thanksgiving break.

 

Attention all artists: stop by C wing and pick up information from the bulletin board to enter the Benton Christmas on the Square art contest.  Cash prizes will be awarded.

 

Are you cold but your jacket is not school approved? Mrs. Lepore is selling PLAIN NAVY BLUE SCHOOL APPROVED SWEATSHIRTS for $20 each. Stop by her room OR find her at lunch to get one today! C-4 in the Art Wing. 

 

All orders for Senior Cap and Gown PHOTOS go to Mrs. Hahn. They can also be ordered online at cowenstudios.com.

 

Brrrr it’s cold!! Yearbook is selling hot cocoa on days it hits the 40s, before school and during lunch shifts while it lasts. $1 per cup and we have marshmallows and whipped cream for .25 each. 

 

Yearbooks are now $70. Look for the $10 off coupon in the ASKALADA newspaper.

A payment plan is available for yearbooks. Get the form outside C-wing and bring it to Mrs. Hahn in C-3.

 

The wrestling team is selling school approved sweatshirts for $25. See Coach Cox in E-304 if you are interested. 

 

Ms. Hagerhjelm has some extra homecoming t-shirts and junior class t-shirts on sale. $5 for long sleeve and short sleeve shirts! Come see Ms. Hagerhjelm in M2 while supplies last. 

 

If you need assistance on papers, The Writing Center will be open with ELA tutoring every Wednesday by Beta students in room E111 from 2:30-3:30.

DI will be meeting in room D-4 every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30.

 

Tutoring for #100 will be every Thursday from 2:30-4:00 in Coach Fields’ room, F-309.
