All drama club members who plan on riding in the Homecoming Parade must have a completed form turned in to Mrs. Finimore or Mrs. Lipsey or they will not be able to ride in the parade.
The first Trivia Night will be on Thursday Sept. 29. Come by F-304 to get a signup sheet from Mr. Baskin.
Anyone interested in playing tennis should attend an informational meeting Thursday immediately after school in Mrs. Byrd's room, M7. Anyone who is interested but can't make the meeting should stop by her room sometime this week.

Are you interested in competitive speaking? It is time for the “Voice of Democracy” competition. The Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsors an annual competition for high school students, and this year’s theme is “My Responsibility to America”. There are local, state, and national awards of up to $30,000 scholarship. Please see Mrs. Finimore, Mrs. Lipsey, or Mrs. Ross for details. The deadline for entry is October 27th.

On Saturday at our home meet, the Airline Cross Country Festival, we hosted 34 schools, 500 athletes, and over 1,200 spectators. Our girls lost a tough 4-way fight for the team title, placing 3rd in a field of 11. They lost the team title by a mere 8 points. Anneliese Jones made the Individual podium, placing 8th. The boys put on a show, taking the team title for the 3rd consecutive year. They won with the low score of only 43 points to runner-up Ruston's 95 points. The Vikes put 4 on the individual podium (top 10) and 5 in the top 14. Scorers for the winning team were: Will Dart 4th, Taejon Morris 7th, Joshua Burns 8th, Nate Godeaux 10th, Xavier Wilson 14th. Next up is the University of Arkansas Chili Pepper Festival on Saturday.
Could not be prouder of the Airline debate team! They cleaned up at the Caddo Magnet tournament this weekend.Don't forget you can help these students continue to travel and compete in tournaments by getting your $5.00 Airline spirit sticker from any debate team member or Ms. Booth in F-19.
