If you like great entertainment and love the 80’s, make plans to attend the Speech and Drama Department’s “Back to the 80’s” show on Thursday. You’ll see lots of your favorites from the 80’s and even an original musical tribute to “The Empire Strikes Back”. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.
Juniors: Tomorrow is the deadline to submit photos for the Ring Ceremony video. If you plan to participate in the ceremony, please turn in pictures of yourself and your friends to include in the show.
Juniors: April 30 is the deadline for all Ring Ceremony Information forms. Students who do not turn in forms by the deadline will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. See Mrs. Finimore for forms.
Prom tickets are on sale at the senior wall for $25 each. Last day to purchase tickets will be on Thursday – no exceptions! Cash only!!
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: Please remember to VOTE for your Student Council Officers and Class Senators. The deadline to vote is Wednesday, April 16.
Hoppy Pops are on sale from now until April 16. Send a lollipop and message to a friend for Easter for only 50 cents. See any sophomore senator or Mrs. Gobert in E-9 to buy one. They will be delivered on April 17.
The 2014-2015 Out of District Forms are in. They are available in Mrs. Peña’s office.
DECA students are raising money for Muscular Dystrophy. Please see any DECA student or Mrs. Hall in F17A to make donations. Even a dollar counts.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors: Please read your school loop email from Mrs. Hall. Anyone interested in joining DECA for the 2014-2015 school year needs to have an application turned in by May 6th. This is a great way to earn school credit for having a job.
Seniors – If you missed getting your order from Graduate Sales and have zero balance, you can pick up the order from Mrs. Hesson in the counselors’ office.
Attention Seniors: The senior issue of the Airline Askalada will feature “wills” written by seniors to underclassmen. If you would like to submit your “will” for inclusion in the newspaper, you can pick up a form outside Mrs. Gehrls’s room, F-16. You must submit the form with $2 to Mrs. Gehrls or an Askalada staff member by Thursday, April 17. No wills will be accepted after April 17th.
Students, don’t forget that sweet and sour suckers are now on sale to support the state champion D.I. teams. They are $1. See any D.I. member, Mrs. Stevenson, Mrs. Hollis, or Mrs. Anderson.
Project Graduation – You must pre-register by May 1 to ensure getting a t-shirt and the absolute deadline is May 16 at graduation rehearsal. The cost is $50. Registration forms can be picked up in the student office and the forms and payment can be returned to the address list on the back of the form. Samples of the monogrammed infinity scarves can be viewed and ordered with Mrs. Pam Hill in the library. The cost is $10 and all proceeds go to Project Graduation.
Attention Juniors: If you are interested in being nominated as a representative for Girls State or Boys State, please stop by the counselors’ office to sign up. You must have at least a 3.0 GPA and exemplify leadership, integrity, academic excellence and patriotism. Girls and Boys State will be held June 22-28, 2014 at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Deadline is Wednesday, April 9th.
If you are interested in applying for the 2014-2015 Airline Askalada staff, see Mrs. Gehrls in F-16 for more information and to pick up an application. Applications are due back to Mrs. Gehrls no later than Tuesday, April 15.
Bossier Youth Leadership Applications are now available online for any sophomore who is interested in the program which is a part of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. For more information, go to the Bossier Chamber of Commerce website. All applications, commitment form and the $100 fee are due to your High School Counselor by 8:30 a.m. on April 17, 2014.
Seniors – We want to incorporate your favorite memories in this years prom décor. If you have any 4X6 photos that you would like to see at prom please turn them in to Mrs. Pearson.
Attention all Airline high school females: If you would like to be part of the Airline High School 2014-2015 Pep Squad, there is a mandatory meeting Thursday, April 24th at 6 p.m. in the Airline High School library. A $50 non-refundable cash deposit will be due at this time. Any questions can be directed to either Mrs. Garrett or Ms. Catherine Webb.
Have you ever wondered how you can become a Registered Voter? If you are 18 years old and will be 17 years old by October 1st you can register to vote. Mrs. Hayes has voter forms in the registrar’s office. Stop by and pick one up. Sign up by Friday, April 11th and Mrs. Hayes will mail them in for you.
If you are a male student and have turned 18 years old, it is your legal and civic responsibility to register with Selective Service. Go by the registrar’s office and Mrs. Hayes will show you how. Remember it is the Law.
