Congratulations to the Freshmen and JV boy's basketball teams. They beat Parkway. Freshman 35-32 & JV 47-42.

Boys Varsity defeated Southwood last night 8-0

Jordan Harville lead the way with 3 goals, Tung Khai, Luis Vellejo and Dylan Zickafoose each had 1


 

1.  Congratulations to our November PBIS winner Maddie Dooley.  Maddie received a basket of gift cards, merchandise, a movie pass, and food valued at over $50.  Also Mrs. Connie Hayes received two movie passes since she is the staff member who awarded Maddie the winning Viking Voucher.  Congratulations to both of them.

 

2.  We would like to recognize the following 10 seniors who met the qualifications to be nominated as candidates for AHS Student of the Year.  Timothy Cobb, Brian Engelke, Sarah Evans, Katherine Gatti, Savannah Simons, Jamie Sparkman, Madelyn Stewart, Nandini Tivakaranm Jacob Tuberville, and Emily Wood.

 

Five of these candidates advanced to the next round and will write an essay and be interviewed by a panel of teachers this week.  Those who advanced are:  Timothy Cobb, Brian Engelke, Katherine Gatti, Savannah Simons, and Nandini Tivakaran. 

 

Young Life club will be today, Nov 28th at "The Dock" up at Airline.  Club will start at 7:02pm so bring a friend and join us.  Only 2 clubs left this year!!!

 

Attention Seniors:

A representative from the Louisiana Tech will be on campus Tomorrow, November 29 during all lunch shifts.  Be sure to stop by to hear about opportunities they have to offer.  

Drama Club members - Your Elf Project items are due to Mrs. Finimore no later than Wednesday, December 6.  Help others have a great Christmas.  See Mrs. Finimore with any questions.

 

 

Attention all interested in trying out for the Bowling team. Tryouts will be on November 29th and 30th from 3-5 p.m. at Holiday Lanes. You must have a physical and waiver signed by a parent or guardian to tryout. You can download the forms from our website or you can get the forms from Coach Finimore in F-110. Sign up sheets will be outside of room F-110.

 

Reminder, Graduate Sales will be on campus this Friday the 1st during all lunches in the “DOCK” taking follow up class ring orders and senior grad supply orders.

 

In conjunction with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department, we will be conducting a canned food drive from November 1st – December 4th.  This will be a contest between 1st block classes.  The class that brings the most percentage of cans will be awarded a surprise.  Let’s fill all the barrels in the foyer in an effort to help those in need. 

 

Applications for Louisiana Tech Aerospace Scholarship are now available online at https://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/application   

Applicants must have an ACT composite of 26, 3.0 or higher GPA and complete a physical fitness assessment.  Currently the most desired applicants will be students planning to major in engineering, meteorology, nuclear physics and foreign languages. Deadline to apply is December 1st.  

 

Attention Seniors: Applications for the Jeff Hazen Memorial Scholarship are now available. You must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, 20 or higher on the ACT and plan to attend a 4 year college in the United States. Application deadline is January 31, 2018. You may apply online at:
