This Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again Friday, starting at 4 and lasting until 10:30, Project Graduation will be hosting a giant zip line next to the AHS Football stadium. This 3 story zip line is open to all ages and costs $5 for 1 ticket or $10 for 3 tickets. This amazing ride is partner-friendly, so grab a friend and come support the class of 2015 before you support your Vikes! There will also be bungee jumping and slides. Hope to see all of you there before we “Black Out Benton!”
FCA – Everyone is invited to attend the FCA breakfast this Friday in the boy’s gym. It starts at 6:30 a.m. and is sponsored by the Simple Church. You have one more week to join FCA. The cost is $12 which includes a t-shirt. FCA will be selling tickets to the September Outdoor Extravaganza at CenturyLink for one more week. The cost is $10. See Mrs. Tyler. FCA would like to encourage everyone to go see the move “When the Game Stands Tall.”
If you would like to become a member of Mu Alpha Theta, a national math club, please come by room E-1 or E-10 to pick up an application. You must have completed Geometry and maintained a 3.14 GPA. Deadline to return the application is Tuesday, September the 2nd.
Student Section T-Shirts – “I Believe” that you should buy a student section shirt. To purchase one find Sawan Desai, Abhi Shah, Lauren Adams, Ali Hedgepath, or go to Ms. Groom’s class F-3. They are $15 and all proceeds go to Project Graduation. Deadline is next week.
Homecoming is just around the corner, and it is time to order your Homecoming t-shirt. Shirts are $12 for short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve. See any junior senator or Mrs. Garrett, Mrs. Hollis, or Mrs. Finimore to order.
Senior Girls – AHS can select two senior girls to participate in the Commission for Women Mentoring Program this year. To be selected your must have: 2.0 GPA or above, involved in community, church, extracurricular activities, recommendation by one teacher, personal transportation to attend events. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to receive scholarship money after completing the program. Please see Ms. Martin this week if you are interested in applying. Deadline for receiving an application is Friday, August 29th.
All Biology Students – Are lost in Biology already? Well, we are going to help you through it. We will be holding EOC student review days every other Wednesday. There will be a review Wednesday the 27th after school in E-16. Ask your Biology teachers about the review days and let’s get our Biology EOC scores soaring. We want the highest Biology EOC scores in Bossier Parish.
Project HOPE is accepting new members. Come by Mrs. Tolliver’s room E-16 to sign up now through 8-29.
If you are a creative problem solver who likes a challenge and wants to compete against high school students from around the world, then we want you to join Destination Imagination. If you are interested in joining Airline’s DI teams (or if you just want to know what DI is all about), come by Mrs. Hollis’ room F-6 today after school for a brief interest meeting.
Attention Pep Squad Members: This Friday, August 29th, is the Lion’s Club Jamboree game here at Airline High School. Please wear your pep squad uniforms to school this Friday. You must meet Mrs. Garrett and Ms. Parks outside in front of the band room at 8:15 p.m. for attendance check. If you have any questions please see either Mrs. Garrett in C-2 or Ms. Parks in M-4.

First Priority will begin meeting Wednesday, September 3rd during all three lunch shifts in F-3. If you would like to be on a First Priority’s leadership team, we will have leader training on Saturday afternoon from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Please see Ms. Grooms in F-3 for more information.
It’s now time for EVERYONE to vote for the Homecoming Court. Please go to the Airline website and click on the link to vote. You may vote for 8 of the girls from the list of nominations. If you choose to vote for less than 8, that is okay. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. today, August 27. Court will be announced Friday, August 29th during the afternoon announcements.

Senior Class – Go by the wall outside F-3 to check the spelling of your name for our class t-shirts and make any changes. The last day to buy class shirts and make corrections is Thursday, August the 28th.
